My painting reflects images provided by memories, dreams and experiences. The representations go through an abstract mechanism and are combined randomly, allowing me to create new ideal worlds captured on wood. Each art piece presents fantasy spaces, many times dreamed of and in some way attained through the material concretion. In other words: the quest for an earthly representation of my idea of heaven. This imagery is made up of physical, sensory and cultural representations. The different physical scenarios refer to joyous rituals: carnivals, fairs, and the circus, with their distinctive characters and movements. Overlapping with representations of different places travelled and experienced, different representations multiply and come together in one same place. Cultural representations are combined to these, those that capture the sensations of these scenarios, the festive atmosphere of celebrations. Cultures are envisioned through color and movement. The festive component present in my work results from the color-form combination. Fairs of circular propelling forces. Ascending movements that refuse to come down. Multidirectional movements. The result: individual sensations and movements that coexist simultaneously. All of these elements come together in a desire to create and reach a liberating space, ideal, joyful, free from conditioning factors; an attempt to recognize onself in a child’s gaze that constantly cuts out magic and enchanted playgrounds from everyday life.

Working with a dimensional medium results from a desire of achieving a different aesthetic experience. From the moment the art piece is set on the floor, the physical and intellectual distance between it and the spectator diminishes, allowing a different approach and a unique way of interaction. This gives way to a parallelism between recepient and artwork which makes the piece approachable and perceived not just by the visual experience.
